The Sindh government has announced a holiday on Monday. The decision to grant a Diwali holiday to the Hindu community on Monday was taken at a provincial cabinet meeting chaired by the Sindh Chief Minister at the Chief Minister's House.
The decision was taken by the provincial government to respect and promote the cultural and religious traditions of the minorities residing in the province.
It is pertinent to mention that Diwali is the most important festival of the Hindu community, known as the festival of lights. On this occasion, homes, temples, and streets are illuminated.
Diwali is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the Hindu community in various cities of Sindh and across Pakistan.
