All public and private educational institutions in Peshawar will remain open on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the city's Deputy Commissioner (DC) has confirmed, rejecting a fake social media notification that claimed further holidays for schools and colleges.

Institutions in the provincial capital stayed closed on Monday amid roadblocks after the Centre imposed governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and an emergency in several districts.

In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of DC Peshawar, the administration urged students, parents, and the public to disregard the misleading notice and rely only on official sources for updates.

Section 144 remains in force in Peshawar. The DC's order bans gatherings for seven days and restricts the display of weapons and items that could be used for violence.

TransPeshawar, which manages the city's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, said services will resume as usual on all routes from Tuesday.
