The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has launched a digital attestation system for consular documents at its headquarters in Islamabad and liaison offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and Gujrat, effective October 12, 2026.
In a circular issued on October 14, the ministry said applicants seeking general or apostille attestation can now receive electronic certificates (e-Certificates) by email after completing the required procedures and paying the prescribed fees.
The new system allows applicants to get their documents attested without visiting the ministry’s headquarters or liaison offices in person, except when physical attendance is necessary.
MOFA has directed its officers to encourage applicants to submit their documents electronically to improve convenience, transparency, and service delivery.
Applicants can access the online attestation portal at https://portal-attestation.mofa.gov.pk .
