The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has launched a crackdown on wedding halls and marquees operating without adequate parking facilities, sealing six venues and arresting three people.
The campaign has started in the Aziz Bhatti and Shalimar zones, targeting wedding venues that allow vehicles to park illegally on green belts and service roads.
As part of the crackdown, a team led by MCL's Deputy Director of Public Facilities conducted an operation along Raj Bahar Road, sealing Al Khalid, Abdullah, Al Fateh One, Al Fateh Two, Babul Wedding Hall, and Shalimar Marquee.
Authorities also filed a complaint at Baghbanpura Police Station over illegal parking on green belts, while three people involved in the violations were arrested.
Officials said the operation was carried out on the instructions of the Administrator and Chief Officer.
Municipal Officer (Regulation) Jawad Ul Hassan Gondal warned that the crackdown would continue, with strict action, including sealing, against wedding halls and marquees found using green belts and service roads for parking.
