The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned the public against fraudulent agents misleading them by offering assistance with the attestation of educational documents.

In a public advisory, the commission revealed that certain individuals were posing as authorised agents and offering applicants assistance in getting their academic certificates and other educational documents attested by the HEC.

The commission cautioned that such services could be part of fraudulent schemes and advised citizens to exercise extreme caution while dealing with individuals claiming to facilitate the document attestation process.

The HEC specifically urged applicants not to hand over their personal information, academic records or educational documents to unauthorised persons.

According to the commission, the entire educational document attestation process is conducted online and is paperless, allowing applicants to submit their requests conveniently from their homes.

The HEC advised applicants to avoid engaging agents or intermediaries and instead complete the attestation process themselves by following the instructions available on the commission's official website.

Citizens seeking information or wishing to apply for educational document attestation can visit the HEC website at www.hec.gov.pk. An online helpdesk is also available to assist applicants with their queries.

For further guidance, applicants can contact the HEC through its official helpline numbers: 051-111-119-432 or 0334-1119432.

The commission has urged the public to remain vigilant and use only its official channels to avoid potential fraud and the misuse of personal and academic information.
