Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region, while expressing appreciation for the confidence placed in Pakistan’s role as a facilitator of dialogue.
During discussions with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Prime Minister described Pakistan and Iran as brotherly nations with a shared interest in regional peace, stability, and economic progress. He emphasized the importance of continued engagement and constructive dialogue in addressing regional challenges.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan’s diplomatic and defence leadership in supporting initiatives focused on communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution. He praised the commitment shown by regional leaders toward pursuing peaceful solutions through dialogue.
In addition to political and diplomatic matters, both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure development, reconstruction efforts, and broader regional connectivity.
The meeting highlighted the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Iran and underscored the mutual desire to expand collaboration across multiple sectors for the benefit of both countries and the wider region.
