Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a slight decline as the bullion market adjusted to movements in international precious metal prices and fluctuations in the local currency market.

According to the latest rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association, the price of 24-karat gold settled at Rs. 453,933 per tola, reflecting a decrease of 0.60% compared to the previous trading session. Similar price adjustments were observed across major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Multan.

Market analysts attribute the latest decline to changing global gold prices, currency exchange rate movements, and evolving investor sentiment. Gold remains one of the most closely watched commodities in Pakistan, where it is widely regarded as a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty.

Despite recent price fluctuations, demand for gold continues to remain stable. Investors and savers are increasingly turning to precious metals to protect their wealth amid concerns over inflation, currency depreciation, and broader economic challenges. Retail jewelers have also reported consistent demand for gold bars, biscuits, and investment-grade bullion.

Internationally, gold prices continue to react to major economic developments, including central bank policy decisions, inflation data, and geopolitical events. As Pakistan relies heavily on imported bullion, changes in global market prices have a direct impact on domestic gold rates.

The price of 22-karat gold, commonly used in jewelry manufacturing, was also adjusted in line with the decline in 24-karat rates. Industry experts advise consumers to verify daily official prices before making purchases, as retail rates may vary due to making charges, taxes, and local market conditions.

Meanwhile, silver prices also witnessed minor changes, following trends in international commodity markets. Analysts note that both gold and silver are expected to remain sensitive to global economic developments and domestic currency performance in the coming weeks.

Financial experts recommend that investors closely monitor market conditions and adopt a long-term investment strategy when investing in precious metals, particularly during periods of economic uncertainty and market volatility.
