Authorities in Kasur have launched an investigation after a late-night raid at a private hospital reportedly uncovered evidence of an alleged illegal organ transplant operation.

According to initial reports, law enforcement officials, accompanied by health authorities and representatives from the relevant regulatory bodies, conducted the operation following concerns about unauthorized medical procedures being carried out at the facility. During the raid, investigators reportedly recovered a human kidney and discovered a female patient in critical condition.

Officials are examining allegations that a medical team from Lahore may have been involved in performing transplant procedures without the required legal approvals. Reports further claim that attempts were made to address complications arising from the procedure, prompting authorities to widen the scope of the investigation.

Several individuals have been taken into custody for questioning, while efforts are underway to locate other suspects who allegedly left the premises before the raid. Investigators are collecting evidence and reviewing medical records to determine the full extent of the alleged operation.

The incident has renewed attention on Pakistan’s organ transplant regulations, which strictly prohibit the commercial trade of human organs and require all transplant procedures to comply with established legal and ethical standards.
