Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator and VEON subsidiary with over 72 million subscribers, is hiring a Senior Radio Access Network (RAN) Optimization Specialist for its Network Planning & Operations Division in Islamabad.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for end-to-end 4G LTE-Advanced and pilot 5G New Radio (NR) performance tuning, cluster drive-testing analysis, interference mitigation, and radio frequency quality assurance across key metropolitan regions. You will interface directly with equipment vendors (Ericsson, Huawei, ZTE) and regional field operations teams to maintain countrywide cellular quality.
The candidate will also contribute directly to regulatory compliance reporting for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), QoS benchmarking drives, and next-generation spectrum refarming initiatives as Jazz accelerates digital inclusion across Pakistan.

- Lead radio access network optimization across major 4G/LTE macro and small-cell clusters to maximize throughput and spectral efficiency.
- Analyze 3GPP KPIs including Call Drop Rate (CDR), Radio Resource Control (RRC) Connection Setup Success Rate, Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), and Handover Success Rate (HOSR).
- Conduct post-processing of scanner and drive-test logs using TEMS Investigation, Actix Analyzer, and NEMO Outdoor.
- Recommend and implement antenna tilt adjustments, azimuth optimization, power reconfiguration, and neighbor-relation tuning.
- Prepare technical compliance documentation and audit reports for PTA Quality of Service (QoS) surveys.
- Coordinate with transmission, core network, and field operations teams to resolve hardware alarms and backhaul degradation.
- Participate in pilot 5G NR trials, evaluating mmWave and sub-6GHz beamforming and Massive MIMO performance parameters.

- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecom Engineering, or Electronics from an HEC/PEC recognized institution.
- 4 to 7 years of specialized hands-on experience in 4G/LTE and 5G RAN optimization within a telecom operator or top-tier OEM vendor.
- Deep understanding of 3GPP air-interface specifications, modulation schemes (QAM-256), carrier aggregation, and link budgets.
- Proficiency with OSS tools (Huawei U2020/iMaster, Ericsson ENM) and radio network parameter databases.
- Expertise in root cause analysis for poor SINR, high VSWR, pilot pollution, and inter-cell interference.
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in Python or SQL for automated KPI dashboarding is an added advantage.
