More than 20,000 people completed their registration for Hajj 2027 within the first 24 hours after Pakistan officially opened the mandatory pre-registration process.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs launched the registration drive on June 22, marking the earliest start to a Hajj registration cycle in the country’s history. The initiative aims to streamline preparations and ensure timely management of applications ahead of the pilgrimage.
In a first, overseas Pakistanis have also been included in the registration process, allowing eligible citizens living abroad to apply alongside applicants residing within Pakistan.
Officials have clarified that pre-registration is mandatory but free of cost at this stage. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until Pakistan’s allocated Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims is reached.
The ministry has advised prospective pilgrims to ensure their passports remain valid until at least November 16, 2027, and has encouraged those with expiring documents to renew them as early as possible.
Details regarding Hajj package costs, payment schedules, and other arrangements will be announced separately under the upcoming Hajj Policy 2027. At this stage, registration serves to secure a place in the applicant pool for the pilgrimage.
