Mimetic Machines is a cutting-edge robotics hardware and software engineering startup building next-generation Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), humanoid research platforms, and industrial automation agents in Pakistan for global export.
We are seeking a talented Robotics Software Engineer to take ownership of autonomous navigation, 3D LiDAR SLAM, motion planning, and real-time embedded control systems. You will work with physical robot hardware, sensor fusion arrays (IMU, LiDAR, Depth Cameras), and high-performance computing nodes running ROS2.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy robust autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance stacks using ROS2 (Humble / Iron) and Nav2.
- Implement real-time sensor fusion algorithms combining 3D LiDAR, RealSense depth cameras, wheel odometry, and 9-DOF IMUs.
- Build and optimize SLAM pipelines (Cartographer, LIO-SAM, RTAB-Map) for complex indoor and GPS-denied outdoor environments.
- Write ultra-clean, high-performance modern C++ (C++17/20) and Python software targeting embedded Linux (NVIDIA Jetson Orin).
- Design trajectory planning and kinematic control algorithms for differential-drive and omnidirectional robotic chassis.
- Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations in Gazebo and Isaac Sim before running on-field robot hardware trials.
- Contribute to safety interlocks, watchdog services, and remote teleoperation via WebRTC and micro-ROS.
Requirements & Qualifications
- BS or MS in Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience developing software for mobile robots or autonomous systems.
- Advanced proficiency in modern C++ and Python within a Linux / Ubuntu development environment.
- Proven expertise with the Robot Operating System (ROS / ROS2) ecosystem, publisher/subscriber patterns, actions, and tf2 transforms.
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, 3D spatial transformations, quaternions, and state estimation (Kalman Filters / EKF).
- Experience interfacing with microcontrollers (STM32 / ESP32) and hardware communication protocols (CAN bus, UART, I2C, SPI) is highly valued.
