Job Description & Role Mission
Nayatel (Pvt) Ltd, Pakistan’s benchmark FTTH (Fiber To The Home) and cloud infrastructure provider, is seeking energetic and technically proficient Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineers for its 24/7 Network Operations Command Center in Islamabad.
In this mission-critical role, you will be on the front lines ensuring 99.99% uptime across Nayatel’s nationwide Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON), core BGP routing tables, metro Ethernet backbones, and enterprise cloud data centers.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced real-time troubleshooting environments, possesses strong analytical instincts to isolate fiber degradations and packet loss, and is eager to advance their career in ISP architecture, cloud security, and carrier-grade IP routing.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor backbone fiber links, OLTs, core routers, and edge BGP sessions across 24/7 rotating shifts.
- Rapidly identify and isolate network faults, optical loss events, fiber cuts, and DDoS anomalies using NMS tools (Zabbix, Cacti, Grafana, PRTG).
- Coordinate with field fiber splicing teams and cable maintenance squads during emergency cutovers and route restorations.
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols: VLANs, QinQ, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
- Handle Tier-2 technical escalations for premium corporate clients, data centers, and educational institutions within strict SLA timelines.
- Execute scheduled maintenance windows, firmware upgrades, and failover redundancy testing during low-traffic maintenance periods.
- Maintain comprehensive shift incident reports, RCA documentation, and telecom network logs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- BS in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems, or related engineering discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of practical experience in a telecommunications NOC, ISP, or large enterprise network environment.
- Active CCNA or CCNP (Enterprise / Service Provider) certification is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on familiarity with Huawei, Cisco, or Juniper router configuration and optical OTDR testing equipment.
- Solid grasp of DNS, DHCP, IPv4/IPv6 subnetting, NAT, and GPON architecture (OLT / ONT / Splitters).
- Willingness to work flexible 24/7 shift rotations (including night shifts and weekends) with generous shift premiums.
- Exceptional team communication and problem-solving aptitude under operational pressure.
